Dr. Michael Gorback received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his residency and fellowship at the The Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in 1983. He is board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
After completing his training he served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Duke University for 8 years, where his clinical activities included intensive care, hyperbaric medicine, anesthesiology and pain management. He served as Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Southmore Hospital in Pasadena before it closed. He has been practicing pain management full time in the Clear Lake area for over 15 years.
Dr. Gorback is the author of thirty-two scientific articles and textbook chapters, as well as one medical textbook. He has also presented and lectured at numerous medical conferences and courses. He is a reviewer for the Texas Board of Medical Examiners and has assisted state and federal law enforcement officers with drug and insurance investigations, as well as helping to draft drug-related legislation for the State of Texas.
